Privacy Policy

This site runs no cookies, no analytics service, no advertising pixels and no third-party fonts. Nothing follows you around the web.

If you arrive from a link that carries campaign tags, the site remembers which link it was for the length of your visit, so I can tell which of my videos actually helps people. It is stored in your own browser and it is gone when you close the tab.

The application form does not send your answers anywhere. They stay in your own browser so the next page can read them, and they are gone when you close the tab.

The only time your details leave your device is when you choose to book a call, at which point they go to Calendly so the appointment can exist.

The application asks for your name, email address, phone number and country, whether you are male or female, and your answers about your goal, training history, what has stopped you, how many days a week you can train, and whether you are ready to invest in coaching.

Those answers are stored in your browser's session storage. They are not transmitted to me, to any server, or to any third party. Session storage is cleared by your browser when you close the tab, and you can clear it yourself at any time through your browser settings.

Sex and country are asked because the coaching is offered to men only and, at present, only in North America and Europe. Both are used to tell you immediately whether you are eligible rather than taking you through the rest of the questions first.

Booking is handled by Calendly, a scheduling service operated by Calendly LLC in the United States. If you book, the following is sent to Calendly: your name, your email address, and a short summary of the answers you gave in the application, which includes your phone number and country.

That summary is shown to you in the booking form before you confirm, in the field marked "anything that will help prepare for our meeting". You can edit or delete any of it before booking.

Calendly then processes your booking, sends your confirmation and reminders, and stores the record in my Calendly account. Calendly acts as a processor on my behalf and has its own privacy policy governing what it does with the data.

Calendly's own cookie banner is suppressed on the embedded calendar. That is only appropriate because this policy tells you Calendly is involved and what it receives, which is the purpose the banner would otherwise serve.

The guides ask for nothing. No name, no email address, no sign-up. Open one and read it.

There is no mailing list. If one is ever introduced, this policy will be updated before it happens, and you will be asked to opt in rather than being added automatically.

The business is a Montana limited liability company, so I am based in the United States and any personal data I hold is processed there. Calendly and the site's host are also United States companies.

If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, that means your data leaves your country when you book a call. You should know that United States law does not offer the same protections as UK or EU data protection law, and that public authorities there may have powers of access that would not exist at home.

UK and EU data protection law still applies to me, because it follows you rather than following where I am incorporated. Everything in the rights section below is yours regardless of my being in the United States, and I will honour it.

In practice the exposure here is small: the application never transmits your answers at all, so unless you book a call there is nothing of yours in the United States to begin with.

The site is hosted by Netlify, which operates the servers that deliver these pages. Like any web host, Netlify records technical information about requests, including IP addresses, in its access logs. That is a normal part of running and securing a website and is not used to build any profile of you.

My videos and posts sometimes link here with tags on the end of the address, describing which video the link was in. When you arrive, the site stores those tags in your browser so that if you go on to apply, I can see which piece of content brought you.

This is stored using your browser's session storage, not a cookie. It is never sent to a server on its own, it is not readable by any other website, and it is deleted the moment you close the tab. It contains the campaign tags and the address of the page you landed on, nothing about you.

If you go on to book a call, those tags are passed to Calendly with the booking so the same link is recorded against it.

Where you complete the application and book a call, the basis is that the processing is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract.

Where technical logs are kept by the host, the basis is legitimate interests, namely operating a secure and functioning website.

The application asks about your body composition goals. That information stays in your browser and is not transmitted, but you should know that if you later discuss health matters with me during coaching, that is handled under the coaching agreement rather than this policy.

Application answers: only for as long as your browser tab is open.

Booking records held in Calendly: kept while you are an active or prospective client and deleted when they are no longer needed, and in any event on request.

Host access logs: retained by Netlify under its own retention schedule.

If you are in the UK or the EU, you have the right to ask for a copy of the personal data I hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to how it is used, and to ask for it in a portable format.

Because the application does not transmit your answers, in most cases the only record that exists is a Calendly booking, and only if you made one.

If you think I have handled your data badly, you can complain to your local supervisory authority. In the UK that is the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. In the EEA it is the authority for the country you live in.

If you are in the United States or Canada, you may have similar rights under your own state or provincial law. Rather than work out which apply to you, I extend the rights above to everyone who asks, wherever they live.

This site is not intended for anyone under 18. The application declines applicants under that age at the first step and does not retain their answers.
